Date someone new. If you two broke up, there must have been a reason. The two of you just weren't compatible, so the best thing to do is find someone more attuned to you. I still think about my exes. To the ones I've hurt, I hope they're doing alright, and they've met or will meet a great guy. To the ones that have hurt me, I see now that we just weren't good together, and it was for the est that we broke up. I hope life is treating them well, and I thank them for ending it when they did, because they gave me the chance to meet someone who does appreciate me.
I don't know the circumstances in your relationship, but if you feel there is a chance for hope, you should try to fix things. If you feel that the two of your just weren't meant to be, or maybe it's her that feels that way... Then be thankful you had them in your life, learn from the experience, and move on. Anytime a door closes, another door opens.
And I know it's not as easy as that... It's hard to get over your ex and meet some one new... But after enough time, you'll come to realize that you are fine without her. Spend some time with your friends, that should help.

Well, you don't just stop thinking about your ex, you should just try not to think about your ex, but that is much easier sad that it really is in real life.
You should just get up in the morning and go out the door, hang out with your friends and go somewhere, where you know you don't have to be confronted with the memories of your ex, or you run into your ex.
Think about you, you is everything right now, and it might not feel this way right now, but you will forget the pain and maybe think about your ex in a different way......give it time.
Good luck..

In my experience, you never completely forget a "lover", with the possible exception of one night stands. It souds insipid, but just try not to obsess about this person. Eventually, their memory will fade. In my case, I still think about some past girl-friends, maybe from a song, a scent, or a place we liked to be together, but for me it has become whimsical, not unpleasant. You will likely wonder about them from time to time. If you feel you must make an effort at complete amnesia, then break off contact. You will think of them less and less, until one day they cross your mind and you realize it's been months since you thought of them.
In the meantime, occupy yourself with other people or pursuits. BBefore you know it, you'll be right as rain.

At close to 11 months and counting. Can't answer that yet.
Different people are different. I broke up with my exes. It wasn't a healthy relationship. Still, I love them and it's hard not to think about them. To make things worse, I keep running into them at the dojo. Ran into my ex-gf there, last night. Not pleasant.

Its only natural to think about them! I still think about my ex from a year and a half ago from time to time. Even though I am with a new someone (for almost a year now), when I see things that remind me of him or things we did together, I can't help but think about him and us- back then. Of course, if it just happened, then you will think of the other someone more often, but it will decrease with time. When that someone is replaced, your mind will be occupied, but until then, just go with it. try not to dwell on it or what "coulda, shoulda, woulda" been. But other then that, it's healthy, and apart of the process. With time, you will be fine.

It will take time to get over them believe me. You are just going to have to go out with friends and try and meet new people and maybe something will come from that
