She does it because she's a dog, and dogs do that.
Sorry....

Lots of good answers already, but just want to add that I doubt your dog knows why she's in trouble. More likely she can tell that you're upset with her and is acts submissive (what people often label acting "guilty") because she is trying to appease you.
If a dog is into rolling in dead stuff, there's really only one way to stop them, and that's supervise them constantly or teach a very strong Leave It command and don't let them out of sight.

i believe that the author of this text replaced into the terrific option in deeming the myths a team of nonsense. I consistently taken care of my canines like he replaced into the king of the homestead, yet he consistently obeyed and replaced right into a loving, dependable better half. I consistently permit him bypass via doors first, especially because of fact he replaced into small and that i desired to determine the door did no longer slam on him. I do believe that aggressive breeds can study to be loving, dependable pets. yet I additionally believe that canines are canines and each so often their temper is brought about genuinely. My toy poodle replaced into very possessive of his toys and can lung and snap at your foot in case you tried to push "his" issues away. the version being that a 6 pound poodle might desire to no longer do close to the wear and tear that a 40 lb. or extra effective canines might do if he gets aggravated. And the physique shape of the animal must be taken into consideration. some breeds have the jaw capability of a bear capture whilst they latch onto something. i will %. my mom's Boston up off the floor numerous ft whilst he's desperate to maintain carry of his rope toy and he weighs very very nearly 30 pounds. i assume the main factor is which you're feeling secure alongside with your puppy being around your self and your loved ones.

It's doggy perfume to her. She thinks it makes her attractive. I had a dog who preferred eau de dead fish. It really might be best to leash her when she's not in the yard. It's really hard to explain to a dog that her perfume stinks.

normal dog behavior. mine love dead animals or horse manure...preferably very fresh. it's difficult to break them of this habit. they think it smells wonderful on them. one way you can curb this is to keep her on leash, and when she attempts the behavior, pull back on the leash and say "leave it" in a harsh voice. she's smart, so you can prob get her to reduce the behavior. reward her immediately when she becomes conditioned to the "leave it" command, and backs off from the offensive "thing" she attempts to roll in. good luck with this.

who cares why...you want her to stop. You have a large lot but your going to have to keep it clear of her waste. For a couple weeks walk next to her and see if she does it around you. If she does then reprimand her on the spot. If not...refer to step one and pick up after her.

Why would she be in trouble? If you allow her to wander off, you shouldn't be punishing her on what she's doing during her own time. If you don't want her to get poop on her head, don't let her wander off.
