You will get double vision only for a short time after both are uncovered. With one eye covered, your binocular summation and retinal 1:1 correspondence will drift. Once the eye is uncovered, your visual system will begin to recombine stereo image information from both retinas (binocular summation) and eventually correct the offset over a couple of days or less.

Double Vision can be caused by high blood pressure... You might want to go to one of those machines in walmart or your local drug store and check your blood pressure...
