I put my daughter down for a nap, and went back about fifteen minutes later to check on her, and she had her doll up kissing her on the mouth. And I'm not talking about the "Good night, baby doll" kissing, either. I didn't say anything, just told her to go to sleep. I don't want to yell at her, but I feel like i should've said SOMETHING.
And for the record, she doesn't see that stuff when she's with me, and she don't watch it on TV, either. Also, lately, she has an obsession with "naked." That's her favorite thing. Am I freaking out, or is this normal 4 year old behavior?

She does not see this with me and my husband, because the only way he'll kiss me in front of her is a peck on the lips. My four year old was giving a doll tongue!

Aaaaaaaaaah.......I remember those days. You are lucky it's just the doll, when my daughter was 3-4 ish she and her cousin would kiss everytime they were unsupervised. I think it is perfectly normal, and nothing to freak out about- my daughter is 8 now and does not do anything like that now. The most important thing is to make sure she feels normal about it, and later ask her questions about what SHE thinks kissing is, go over who is appropriate to kiss, and how. So she knows that while it is okay for puppy to lick her face, that it's not okay for her to lick her preschool peers's faces. And that it's okay to kiss mommy and daddy on the lips, but she might want to only give her teacher/pastor/whoever a big hug instead.
And remember- at 4, anything that gets a rise out of you or that she thinks is a "no-no" is going to get done a lot more than something that is okay. You just have to help her learn when things are okay, how, and why.

Well this is something than no parent whats to have to talk about. Being as she has seen you and she is not taking the "we were just playing around" line, then maybe you need to be a bit more up front with her. Obviously not going into great detail about bits, but explain that when mummy and daddy's are in love its what happens. And you was not hurting her mum. She will soon forget any worry, and when she is a little older and can understand more it wont bother her.

This is perfectly normal. Anyone who says it is not has either no kids that age or never caught them. Kids do a lot of things that are normal that people like to say isn't just because it sounds bad and since I have been a parent I have been discovering different. I was one of these culprits that always said that is so awful. Kids play games, someday most likely you will experience your children playing "doctor" or house.
When you see this don't ignore it, later on you need to sit down and talk to them about what is appropriate and what is not appropriate and ask them if they saw anyone to that. Most little kids are honest. Who knows you may get a scary answer but most likely this is normal behavior.

Joey322 is right on. Yeah, pretty normal. don't freak. she probably sees it somewhere (like tv) with other friends, grand parents, etc. or even couple of teens kissing in the park.
The main thing is don't freak and talk to her about it - without attacking. The calm conversation will allow her to discuss anything that you are probably fearing. You must consider that, but just don't freak out.
Most of the damage from inappropriate contact (whether with an adult or a playmate) is from the reaction of parents than the actual contact.

I caught my 4 year old in the closet with a 3 year old friend giving him tongue. So yes it is normal. They say you are not suppose to make them feel bad or guilty about it. Check out a Dr. Spock or baby book.

Yep. Normal. I caught my sister dry humping her doll completely naked around that age. And a couple of my friends little sisters did similar things.

It is natural for children, boy or girl, to do things like this. Do not be alarmed!! Bringing it up may only make her embarrassed and that could hurt her in the long run. She is just experimenting things and that is okay. You may want to explain very lightly that it is fine to play but explain why you were upset. Please make sure you do it very lightly, don't make a huge scene. You don't want to make her upset. Good luck, from a mother who has been there.

I know you say that she couldn't have got that from home, but she had to see it somewhere. Maybe while someone babysat her or something that's not something you just start doing, but i don't think you should worry either it's not life damaging to her unless she saw something way more than kissing. Just explain to her that kissing like that is only for grown up, Mommy's and daddy's.

its very normal, now that their brain is more developed, they want to explore their bodies and new things. but as for the doll thing, that is not that unusual. when you kissed, she probably wanted to try too, then she started to suck, because she wanted to explore. All part of nature's delights.

gosh, i don't know. my neice is 4 and she is getting interested in dates and couples and things like that, but it's more like "what is it....." not like she wants to go on a date.
if you see her again, just ask her calmly, what she was doing. if she says kissing her doll, then ask where she learned how to kiss that way. and just go from there.
this will help her not feel threatened to tell you why, where she saw it, what it means to kiss like that to her.
take care!
