I do not like chocolate in any way, shape or form. I also do not do caffeine (found in chocolate). Now that the holidays are just around the corner, someone always has a box of chocolates they want to share. When asked, I politely say "no thank you." Then some of them say, "well, take one for later." Then I tell them I don't like or eat chocolate. They look at me like I have two heads and then I get responses like "oh, try this chocolate because you'll love it" or "why don't you like chocolate?" I am so sick of these stupid replies. Can anyone think of a good comeback next time I get an offer for chocolate? I told one person I was allergic and they stupidly repled "a small piece won't hurt you." If I was truly allergic, a small piece would most certainly hurt me!

Some people just don't have any common sense. They were nice enough to offer a chocolate, you said no, and that SHOULD have been that - you say "thanks anyway" and they either eat the chocolate themself or give it to somebody else. But some people are dumbasses, and they just won't back off.

Aaahh, most people mean well when they offer you chocolate, and yes, some people are just plain stupid and just plain don't get it. I understand the mentality is "how could anybody not like chocolate?" The least stressful thing for you to do is to just keep politely declining the offers. I can't think of a good comeback without making it sound like you'd be coming across as really rude, like "sure, I'll take a small piece if you'll swallow some of the rat poison under the kitchen sink."

As far as "taking one for later," if you don't want that person to get their britches in a knot, take it, say thanks, and toss it.

I wouldn't get so bent out of shape over it. The people are just trying to share, and maybe pass some of the extra calories onto somebody else! Most people DO like chocolate, so that is why. I would just say no thank you and if they say something, comeback with something funny - you are taking it too seriously.

Hmm, there is very little caffeine in chocolate. Assuming you ate 200 to 300 grams of chocolate, you'd get no more that a tenth the caffeine as a cup of coffee. A similar, but less powerful Xanthene (related to caffeine) is Theobromine. Still not much of that either.

If you don't like chocolate, I've got no problem with that. More left for me. :)

You're just the minority and most chocolate-lovers will never understand. Maybe if you gave them alternative suggestions ("No, i really don't care for chocolate, but i love sugar cookies/ hard candy/ etc.") they would stop offering chocolate. It just seems an American "given" that everybody loves chocolate and they don't get it.

Just say "I don't eat chocolate and I steer clear of caffeine"

Don't get all hot and bothered about it if you're giving them the wrong answers. Tell them the truth.

Just tell them, "I'm really trying to stay away from chocolate because it makes me sick." If someone is an IDIOT enough to justify taking a small piece, just take it and throw it away. Some people, you just have to deal with their utter stupidity.

Since most people LOVE chocolate, you have to understand our surprise at hearing someone NOT liking it. It's the first time I've heard anyone say they don't like it. Just keep saying no thanks and leave it at that. No reason to get mad. Why don't you like chocolate? LOL

I know what you mean. Sometimes you just want to slap
them just like in the movies. Just take a piece and throw
it away or give it to someone else, go to the bathroom and flush it.

Say, "I would but you touched it."

Say, "Hey, take a look over there" and when they look away SMACK that piece of chocolate-still in there hand- right back into there face.

Say, "Did you make it yourself"
If they say "Yes" reply "Sicko"
If they reply "No" say "What you didn't have the heart to make this from scratch"
