I was wondering if pergo wood would be a good fit for using in a office in our house? The carpet we have in their now wasn't installed fully and is actully not even secured to the ground, atleast not all of it is. I heard good things about it.

Yes Pergo flooring would be perfect for an office. It is not actually made of wood though. I had it installed as my kitchen flooring. I love it! It is very easy to maintain and keep looking nice. All you have to do is wet mop it with hot water and a little ammonia. A lot easier to care for than real wood floors. Go for it!

I have Pergo in my kitchen and I can tell you I won't get it again. It buckled and started to peel within 6 weeks of installation. The company replaced it but it is still doing the same thing. It's bubbling in some places, buckling in others. THe next thing I will use is wood flooring. I've had it with the fake stuff. DOn't know if that helps. it's just my own opinion.

I installed pergo type flooring in my home office and agree with most answers. It holds up pretty good to normal use but if you intend to install it in a place exposed to moisture, you'll want to glue it, not just snap it together. I also found the pergo to be somewhat slippery when walking on it. It might take some "getting used to". Good luck. pergo flooring isn't really wood.. its made to look like wood but its not.

there are different types of pergo flooring available.. some offer pretty good warranty. u should research that.

from personal experiences, pergo holds up pretty good to heavy foot traffic, hard to damage, and cleans very easily.
I've seen many offices have pergo installed.

keep in mind. that there are many companies that produce pergo. I've even seen it in Costco. u get what u pay for.

good luck

I have pergo in my home and it's wonderful! It doesn't scratch and it's easy to clean. The only drawback is that you can't get it to wet or it will start to raise.

Nothing is perfect. If you get water under the flooring it will warp and delaminate.
If you damage the surface, like gouging with a furniture leg, the damaged spot cannot be repaired.
