So at church I've been asked to perform a christmas piece on my violin. Does anyone know of a higher-level solo piece that preferably doesn't require accompaniment?
Please nothing too long, and would be easy for me to find the sheet music for. Thanks =)

A very excellent one would be O Holy Night. Get a complex one!

Ave Maria, my husband who doesn't even like classical music has a tear in his eye every time I play my tape of Stern playing that piece for solo violin, I play classical guitar and this is one of my favorite pieces to play, but it sounds so much better on violin. If that doesn't work for you what about O holy night, that's a beautiful piece for solo violin.

The better music stores have whole racks of Christmas music. Since the violin is a "C" instrument, any vocal solo would work. I like "Gesu Bambino" by Pietro Yon.

Good luck! This company has lots of things to choose from.

Oh my what a wonderful thing for you, congratulations. My first choice would be "The First Noel", but I'm sure that what ever you decide will be wonderful and you'll be great. Good Luck and Merry CHRISTmas.

"In the Bleak Midwinter" would be great on violin. I'm sure you can find sheet music for it.
