Are you planning on gettin contact lenses? Well contact lenses are pretty to cool to wear. Sometimes they get annoying when it gets dry. When you first get them, you may have a hard time putting them on. But you'll get use to putting them on. Sometimes its a hassel just putting them. I'm not sure if people can be allergic to contact lenses. Contact lenses can be expensive....but I think it depends on the brand. You must also change your contact lenses on a certain amount of weeks. You must always remember to wash your hands before you put them on and when you take them off. Always replace the solution in the trays. Never sleep with contact lenses and don't rub your eyes.

Contact lenses are so much better than glasses! Unfortunately not everyone can fully enjoy them. The best is to wear them when your young, therefore your eyes will not dry out. Most of the new contacts do not cause irritation or dryness, but everyone reacts differently. I dont think you can be allergic with them though. They are very annoying the first week and it takes some people hours the first time they put them on. But after a little while you can just pop them in no problem. Most contact you use for a month before throwing a way. Here is one cool thing not many people know about. There are contacts you can use for a whole month without ever taking them out. They are fairly new and semi expensive. Around 200 dollars or less for a year. They have a brand way of making them so they have more hydrogen in them. My friend has them and says it makes a tremdous difference, you never will have dry eyes. Regular contacts you have to take out every night, if you dont you can screw up your eyes. Also if you wear them too long they hurt a little bit and become blurry. Your best choice if possible is to wear day and night contacts. Good luck!

Hi,

In most cases, after the initial fitting is completed, contacts are very comfortable, and if properly used, usually do not cause problems. The initial exam & fitting is extremely important, as they first must determine if you are a good candidate to wear contacts (most people are), then they have to determine which type of contacts you need (Spherical, Toric for astigmatism, Multifocal, etc.), and then find the specific brand that will work best for you, as well as teach you how to insert and remove them. During this process, any problem or allergic reaction should become apparent, though they are not common.

Most likely, they will prescribe a type of multiple package lenses for you, meaning that they are replaced at certain intervals. These intervals could be daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly, and that will determine the ultimate cost of the lenses; the more frequently they are changed, the more they will cost over a year's time. Many lenses can be slept in, but your doctor will make the determination as to how you should wear your lenses. Colored lenses are also available in certain brands, so should you have any preferences regarding any of these choices, mention it to the doctor, which may affect which lens they choose for you.

You should buy the first small initial quantity from the doctor, to make sure there are no problems during the first few weeks, and later you can buy the replacements from among the many lower priced choices available. I have dealt with one place that is competitively priced and offers very knowledgeable and assistance (phone number (800) 779-2654), but they can't help you until you've had your exam and fitting, and you have a valid prescription, which by law, the doctor's office must give you. I hope this is helpful to you!

U dont notice them after u put them on. The first time u try to put it on its annoying because my eye blinked a lot making it come out. Some are allergic and have stigmatism but they have some for those types of eyes. Dont leave them on over night as they can cause infections so clean them or you have to go back to glasses for a month. Usually u use a pair for a month I sometimes stretch it out to two. Good luck hoped this helped

I Love contacts!

I have been wearing them for about 4 years, the thing is i only got an infection once becuase i didnt clean them.

As long as you follow hygien rules and be sure to be clean then there is nothing wrong with them.

They are not annoying, the only bad thing about them really is that you have to take em off and put them back on BUT think about the good things.
They dont hurt
You'll look better
and putting em on and taking em off only take like 10 seconds once you get the hang of it

I love them. Before contacts I was TERRIBLE with having anything near my eye. It takes a few days to get used to putting them in and taking them out but it is easy. I started off with the monthly ones but found them too thick and uncomfortable and I kept getting a stye in my eye. I switched to the disposable daily ones "Focus Dailies". They cost a wee bit more but are worth every penny as they are MUCH thinner and more comfortable (you won't even feel them). I think Acuvue also makes daily disposable. Now, I have a friend who worked at an optometrists office and she said dailies are the same as weekly disposables, little known fact. Anyways, I only order a 6 month supply and they last me almost 2 years because realistically I do NOT wear my contacts every single day.
Good luck. You'll love them!!! Give them a try! (Ask your optometrist for a pair to try out)

Actually if you wanna know how to put them off and take them off, you can visit Youtube or Google Videos and search for 'contact lenses'. Some people put short clips on how they put them on and take them off. Visual examples are easier to take in so do some searching on those videos!

I've never worn them before..

But I hope the suggestion above above might help you. I have 2 link here ;)

i don't even notice them unless the air is really dry out. i don't wear them when i go to the beach, because the ocean water will sting. it also hurts a LOT if you get something in your eyes and your contacts are in.

go to a lenscrafters and talk to someone. they have a contact fitting room there and they'll sit and size you for them correctly and let you try on different lenses to see how they feel.
