Video games or a new video game system (Xbox360, PS3, Wii) mostly but mp3 players, dvds, CDs, digital camera, basketball, football. If you really don't know what kind of music or movies to get, gift cards for their favorite stores are always a safe way to go.

Monopoly has a board game based on everything now (NFL) etc...and trivial pursuit for teens is great.
