I'm French and my favourite English accent is the working-class Manchester accent because it sounds very manly! But I also like pretty much every accent in England.
I prefer British accents to American accents in general, which doesn't mean I don't like American accents, except the Texan accent because I pretty much never understand what they are saying.

The question is so general! There are awful American accents, and there are awful English accents. My personal view (and thus it's subjective) is that English accents are better.

I love the Geordie accent (British) and I like the Californian accent from the Bay area! Having said the a close second would come Scouse (British) and the Texan accent - with Texas it's the thought of those big strong cowboys......!!

When you said English accent, did you mean BBC accent? Uhm, I don't like that accent very much. I prefer Irish accent.

they are both OK as long as they don't shout.
There are many different accents in both the UK and America though.
For instance the Middlesboro accent , the Aberdeen accent or the Texas accent, are widely regarded as objectionable.
Yet just listen to someone from Somerset or say California and their voices are just so quaint!!
