I know this question seems perverted, but I heard about this on a TV Show late night and I was unable to catch the name of the show. Anyways, they said fathers in biblical times stuck their fingers into their daughters vagina to prove to the man that was going to marry his daughter that she was in fact a virgin. As you know, a girl has a hymen when shes born and it will rupture if the father breaks it, so I guess that was their way of proving virginity back in the day. Does anyone have any historical/biblical verses that might indicate that fathers (not priests, dad-dads) did do this?

I have not seen anything of this nature in historical writings. How they proved virginity was the married couple had sex on a white sheet (which was very valuable back then). If there was blood on it the following morning, they knew she was a virgin. If there wasn't, she was considered a harlot and the husband had a choice of sending her back home (without the proxy) or keeping her as a wife or a maid. Some of the women who were sent home ended up temple prostitutes.

I'm not sure the one's saying the father did it, really understand What it takes to break the hymen. It's takes a little more than just a couple of fingers. Virgins can use tampons and it not break.

Never heard any such thing in the Bible. It could be a practice that took place in the same time period, there were many many different cultures with perverted practices. Nowhere in the Bible is that ever talked about.

I have heard more commonly simply the newlyweds had sex on a white sheet and they looked for the bloodstain afterward. I've read this in stories of ancient Egypt. The cloth was then hung over the wall of the palace or whatever to show the city that the bride was indeed a virgin.

Very disturbing. If I lived back in the old days and my father ever thought of doing that, I would have to bang his head with a hammer. This is really disturbing to think that people did that for "virginity" a concept that i find so ridiculous anyways.

I have studied the Bible several times, and in several translations/transliterations. I guarantee that there is nothing in ther to support anything like that.
Try the Koran, this sounds like something Mohahameds(ptui) would have done.

The information I found seems to support this but I would urge you to read to the end of the article where it says the bible has in fact been falsified.

Yes they did,and to those who read the bible, shame on you. It clearly says a hand-maiden tested Mary's virginity in this way. Read up.

You won’t find that one in the bible. However it was once a standard practice and often based on Christianity.
