I live in Texas and my extended family has divided loyalties to the colleges of Texas A&M and the University of Texas. So, I wrapped up a Texas A&M doormat and knew it would cause a stir... the recipient would either love it or hate it! Made for some good laughs.
Also, several years ago, somebody in the family gave a yard gnome as a gift...nobody wanted it.... so the recipient then re-wrapped it for the next Christmas...we all had to laugh because it had been resurrected. Now it's a tradition that whoever receives the gnome last, rewraps it for the next year!!

I gave a lame stainless steel photo album one year and it actually was fought over by three guys who all wanted it! Strange but true.
