My faith was tested last night with criticism of my faith, I was thinking about leaving A & Q and for a while I was going to give up but I know loving God and believing him will carry me through
This prayer helped me

Prayer for Faith
Lord, I believe:
I wish to believe in Thee.
Lord, let my faith be full and unreserved,
and let it penetrate my thought,
my way of judging Divine things and human things.
Lord, let my faith be joyful
and give peace and gladness to my spirit,
and dispose it for prayer with God
and conversation with men,
so that the inner bliss of its fortunate possession
may shine forth in sacred and secular conversation.
Lord, let my faith be humble and not presume
to be based on the experience of my thought and of my
feeling;
but let it surrender to the testimony of the Holy Spirit,
and not have any better guarantee than in docility to
Tradition
and to the authority of the magisterium of the Holy Church.

Amen.

Have you been tested?

Definately. My faith has been tested many times during my life and it's only made me stronger. I'm 16, and I carry my Bible around high school. You can imagine the criticizm I get because of that... but I keep on carrying it because of my faith. I have bipolar/depression, which constantly tests my faith every day. The devil puts those nasty depressive thoughts into my head... last night suicide thoughts haunted me so much I had a belt around my neck. It's in those depressive times that I really need to hang onto my faith. It's all I have... know that through your lifetime your faith will be tested. Stay strong and don't give into this evil world we live in. God bless

The only way true love and true faith grows is when it is tested.
It is a privilege to be tested because God works in you through the hard and tough times.

I went through a very tough time of testing and as a result I have become mature, compete not lacking anything. James 1:4

If you never get tested you never grow. The more god prunes you the better the fruit.

Be encouraged and you will be alright God is in control.

So then ... you will do what you wish to do. And, in your own words, you will no have guarantee other than docility & some authority over you. You believe because you "wish to believe."
In sum, you have found your way back to a place that comforts you and makes you feel safe.

That's all very well, but what's that to do with others? Perhaps some of us feel fine in the world of inquiry, discovery and unfettered curiosity. For all it's uncertainty, I choose the magisterium of reason. It's tests require real answers.

I have been tested for the last few months..everything going wrong...and at times it is hard not to ask the reasons of why..but if you will let go and let God move in your life, lay all of the junk at His feet..you will sense such a peace, even in the middle of the storm that rages. And sometimes we are pressured with tests to get us to the place that God has for us...and also to feel more compassion for others that might be faced with the same sort of things in their lives.

Untested Faith would not be Faith at all.

When Gods Word-Your Faith--Holy Spirit comes together
You have Ignition,Faith is like your muscle it strenthens with
exersize.
I disagree with your prayer,in Faith based on Thought and Feeling, that would be Devils domain,
True Faith would be Christ centered.

If you knew only a little piece of what my family is going through right now, you would be amazed at how we can keep our faith.
Jesus told us we would have these times, and I just look to Job and realize I do not have it as bad as Satan wants me to think.
Just hold on to Jesus, look to brothers and sisters in Christ for encouragement, and remember that God loves you so much that HE sent Jesus to pay for your very eternity.

Yes, my faith has been tested. Every day.

Nice prayer. A bit impersonal, but nice.
