While certain notions of beauty are universal (regular features, oval faces, generous lips), more general body shape preferences are not universal.
If you look throughout history at different times, thin was in while at other times, voluptuous was in. Even today in western culture, the anorexic model is the media darling, most men prefer some meat on the women's bones, and in Africa big is beautiful.
A couple of years ago, John Cleese and Elizabeth Hurley hosted a very interesting miniseries on human beautty, called "The Human Face." It is available on dvd and is fascinating.

yes feminine beauty is universal, but it also depends on culture. Some cultures have different ideas of what beauty is, like this one culture finds very heavy set women desireable, so when they young girls are of age the stick them in a hut that they are not allowed to leave, and constantly feed them all day until they are very big, only then will a man want to marry them. Another culture find women with long necks more desireable, and some cultures find women with tatooed faces more desireable, etc.

No, not at all... in some countries where food isn't as readily available, women who are bigger are seen as more attractive b/c they have access to food which means they have status or money... whereas in places like the U.S. skinny is seen as beautiful...
It's a very cultural thing, not universal at all

Nope. Every culture has nuances of beauty that other cultures don't share. I'm not going to bind my feet for anyone, or stretch my neck, or cut my skin, or put plates in my lips, etc.

Yes, it is. But ALWAYS remember, looks aren't everything. On the outside, I've known some EXTREMELY gorgeous women, but because of their attitude or the way they carried themselves made them not so appealing. The most beautiful women are the ones that we least expect.
