I was putting away my christmas boxes felt a sudden pain in the middle of my heal through my sock. There is a tiny small red blood mark in middle of the heel that almost feels like their was something in there I can't get out. I can walk on it, but it is painful. I am wondering if something just poked the surfaced because I can't imagine that something could easily get through the harder skin there. Plus I don't think I could walk without excrutiating pain unless it was very small.

Should I wait a few weeks before seeing a doctor?

If you want it removed go ahead and go in now. The skin on your heel will cover over the glass quickly and form a callous around it. Walking can become very painful some days while others it's not too bad. I didn't even realize I had glass in my foot until it started hurting one day. It had to have been 3 months prior that I did it, last time I was around glass with no shoes on. Just recently did I dig it out myself, a year later.

Got long fingernails or tweesers? Dont figit around much, either bare the little pain and get it out, or you will have to badage it and hop to a Nurse or DR. maybe someone in your family can help you also. Dont walk on the foot with glass in it. Walk on your toe or hell to keep the weight off it. otherwise it will get inbedded into tyour foot and do a whole lot of damage to your ligaments, infect, and nerve damage to the feet. even after you get it all out, you need to put some Peroxide on it a few times a da and bandaides. take care of those feet. you only have 2.

First of all you definitely need to keep the area clean to prevent infection if there actually is a piece of glass in there. If you can see the glass try using tweezers to get it out. If you cannot get it out consult a doctor and get the next possible appointment. But most importantly keep it clean! Feel better!

Keep the area clean for now, if it continues to stay painful or get infected - head to the doctor.

every so often keep pouring proxcide on it, proxcide will keep any infection boiled out of it. most of the time a splinter or small piece of glass will push its self out after 3 or 4 days.

just soak your foot in epson salt and keep it clean for now....you should be fine. If it becomes infected, then go to the doctor. But you don't REALLY have to go to the doctor for that.

If you wait, you may risk infection. Douse it with rubbing alcohol and go to a clinic if you cant get it out yourself.
