use an extra-strength conditioner (like aveda's damage control) and put a lot of it into your hair, esp. into the knot. put on a shower cap and use the blowdryer to gently heat your hair (blowdry the outside of your shower cap while protecting the knotted hair inside) for 30 minutes. this will loosen the knot a little and make it easier to work with. get someone else to untangle your hair at this point. you may have to cut some, but going about this slowly will save most of your hair.

You can try getting your hair wet and putting an extreme amount of conditioner in it. Let is sit for at least 30 minutes. Then use a wide tooth comb or brush, or even your fingers and see if you can get it to loosen up. You can also try a form of oil, just be careful with what you use to get the not out, do not use anything with too close of combs, it might pull out more hair. Good luck.

there is a product called Sammy and you can get it at target for about 5 bucks. it is a little pink bottle and it has a pump. it is meant to be used sparingly but if you pour it on to the knot completely and work it into your hair it should help the tangles to slip out. try getting a comb after drenching it in the product and carefully comb it from the bottom and work your way up.

alrigh so ive had extensions in my hair (last year for cosmo class) and theres an adhesive that you can get to take that knot out its called monkey bars you should be able to find it at aces beauty supplies but also keep in mind that if u've had these extensions in for a while that you will lose sum hair bc you loose about 1,000 pieces of hair a day

1) get a friend.
2) get snorkel equipment ie: 2 pair of goggles and 2 snorkels
3) Jump into a pool together
4) both of your heads must be immersed in the water
5) have your friend gently begin to untangle your hair whilst under water.
6)Use goggles to see, and snorkels to breathe
Why this will work:
The water will largely rule out gravity and reduce friction greatly...it also helps to spread out the knot itself so that it can be untangled.
Note:
You may need alot of time for this to work, and a dedicated friend. but if your hair is as important to you as you make out, I dont see any other way.
If this doesn't work, you could get a boy cut...some girls look very sexy with boy cuts.

i want to say this honestly its definetley what i think you should do i have the same problem with my hair about it being thin and fragile you know but it wasnt from extensions it was from my hairdresser doing corrective coloring not any fault of mine. you should go to a salon and just let them know whats going on and how fragile your hair is and let them use a professional product to get this out dont just go to anyone go to a good one, they can keep from hurting your hair and also give you something to help revitalize your hair mine gave me biolage hair treatments in little glass bottles it really has helped the dryness and breakage.
just wanted to add dont be embarassed by this and if you dont have any money just call around and one the girls at the salon will help you

use an excessive amount of conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes. I think Pantene, or Dove are the most thick and slippery I have used. DON"T GET GENERIC store brands. and dont rinse of water down, and start with the tangle at the nape of the neck, and work your way to the scalp.

I have an idea. My hair is very long, but it breaks easily like yours. before i get knots out i always strengthen it with hair grease. it makes it strong. put it on the ends and all over. then slowly pull the hair apart. it will take awhile but at least ur hair wont fall off

I know this is gross, but slather mayonaisse on the hair and work through the knot. It makes it slippery, so the hair easily untangles. I had a similar problem and this worked for me.

Use a wide-tooth comb very slowly and gather a lot of patience. Spray with detangler or use oil like the answerers above me suggested.
