Can any religion which requires you to self-eviscerate, self-immolate or kill another human being ever be enlightened?

The two sure things in life are death, and taxes. You give up your humanity upon death, and give up all your material goods to the government all your living life.

I don't know any modern religions that require self-immolation, unless you count certain radical branches of Islam.
But religions such as the ancient Aztecs practised human sacrifice..
