personly i think for three rounds it would be a real see-saw slugfest.dempsey would get the better of these early rounds,as he was the much quicker starter.hed wobble and probaly drop louis a couple of times.but as the pace slowed and joe got going the tied would turn.louis would connect more and jack would be koed by round seven, arfter gamely riseing a couple of times.both men would leave the ring bashed up,arfter a real pucker tear up.

Tremendous fight in my opinion. Both men had outstanding power in both hands. Dempsey had a better chin and Louis was a better boxer with a good stiff jab. In the early part of the fight Louis would be shaken up by some of Dempseys power punches but would be smart enough to utilize his jab and throw some power shots of his own. This would be a very brutal fight and Louis would probbly have to pick hisself off the canvas at least once. In about the 12th round Louis would have more left in his tank and pour it on Jack. The referee would then halt this exciting contest.

I would go for 'The Brown Bomber' but the dudes who say Dempsey would start fast I obviously agrre with that! However I am looking at Louis to negate Dempsey pretty quickly and be all over Jack with his straight short sharp work landing hard shot's straight down the middle of a flalling wild Dempsey.Louis would hammer dempsey the fight would be stopped around the sventh due to terrible punishment to Jack.

I'm from the UK sorry.... I think Dempsey was quicker than Joe (certainly one of the greatest fighters of all time); along with his undoubted power I think he may have had the edge? Providing he could take Joe's power, and this is not to be underestimated. Joe Louis was a tremendous short arm puncher. So if Dempsey could take a Louis shot I'd have to go for him. Love to have seen it....

I see both fighters going down multiple times during the fight. In a real see saw slugfest Louis knocks out Dempsey in round 12.

I have watched almost every major fight of these 2 great heavyweight champions and this would be a dream match.

It would be a knockdown punchfest for most of the fight, but I would have to pick Joe Louis by unanimous decision because - in his prime - he is still the all time best heavyweight champ.

It sounds like you have already answered your question.

I'll tell you what it would be a war and great one at that. I do think Louis has better defense even though he was exposed against Max Schmelling, and his offense was second to none.

Louis by knock out but it would be close and bruising.
