b-complex Shaklee's patented B-Complex - with all eight Bs - promotes a healthy cardiovascular system. And what makes this Shaklee product unique is that it's formulated so that the hard-to-absorb but critical B vitamin, called folic acid, is readily absorbed.

Plus, adequate amounts of folic acid in healthful diets have been shown to reduce woman's risk of having a child with brain or spinal cord birth defects. http://www.shaklee.net/thehealthyway/product/20186

Im taking a Womans One A Day. It has all the folic acid and everything else you need, and theres no side effects like having the weird taste in your mouth. Try taking them until you find a doctor. My doctor said that they were okay to take instead of a regular prenatal pill.

I too can not swallow pills, when I saw the size of the prenatal I freaked out thinking that I had to take these for 9 months......I told my Dr. that there was no way that this was going to happen.....She gave me some nasty chewables and that didn't work either....The best vitamins that I took (told to take by my Dr) was Flintstones vitamins....NOT KIDDING!!! I had my baby 3 weeks ago and he is Heath as an ox, 8lbs 4oz and 21" long....Ask your Dr he/she will agree that those can be taken.....:)

I bought the generic CVS brand pills. Not too terribly big, they are pretty easy to swallow. They didn't make me sick either. I started taking them when we started trying, then when I did get pregnant my doctor switched me to the prescription kind. I compared the labels and they have pretty much the same stuff. The presciption kind had a teeny bit more folic acid and a mild laxative (thank GOD).

I was terrible with prenatal vitamins, 1st I had the swallow one, then chewable (which tasted gross), the finally I had 2 Flintstones with iron everyday. I was able to stomach them and they didn't make me feel crappy.
I wanted orange juice my whole pregnancy, so that helped with the folic acid part.

I am terrible at swallowing pills also and normal multi vitamins make me sick. When I was pregnant I used the One Source brand, I got it at Wal-mart. It was cheaper and I had no side effects at all but what worked for me may not work for you. My best friend went through 3 different brands before she found one that worked. You could always ask your doctor as well and she what they recommend.

The OTC ones are simply as well because the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all of the nutrients that you just and youngster want. The prescribed ones most often have just a little extra nutrients in them. So both approach your well. I get the One A Day prenatal nutrients, $thirteen for a month provide. One Source is an excellent prenatal vitamin and they have 50% more calcium, which is highly needed, than that of the Stuart natal vitamins. At your Walmart stores for $4.97. I just bought another bottle this morning.

They are not even necessary if you eat right. If you lack healthy meals than take a natural chewable from the healthfood store..they provide what you need. Nobody needs 500% daily value of any one vitamin or mineral.
