Starbucks is not overrated, a bit pricey, yes but it's like paying the .20 cents extra at a grocery store to get the name brand instead of generic. I've been to many coffee shops and for the most part the prices are pretty in sync with Starbucks. They may have set the precedent but everyone else followed.
Has anyone noticed that Starbucks doesn't do television commercials, except the ones for the bottles drinks. Hey, they must be doing something right.

I would much rather go to the unique little coffee shop down the street than pay 4 bucks for a chai at starbucks.

I don't think they're overrated, however I do think that they're over priced! I love their carmel macchiato or carmel frappucino. I only go to Starbucks when i want what i call a "fancy coffee". For my normal, everyday coffee, nothing beats Dunkin' Donuts! I can drink it black the flavor is so good! I buy the beans and grind and brew it at home, it's excellent! A little more expensive ($7.99 for a 1lb bag) that what you'd get at the store, but totally worth it!

Yes. I think Williams makes much better specialty coffees than Starbucks at a more reasonable cost.

Starbucks is not overrated. It's a lot better than gas station coffee that a lot of people get.

Starbucks is way overrated. I have bought 2 beverages there and wasn't impressed either time. I can make way better coffee at home.

I don't particularly care for it. The only time I bought something from there was when I was in Seattle at the first Starbucks just to say I did so. But hey, they must be doing SOMETHING right!

Honestly, I do.
I say that having never stepped foot into one. I just can't see paying that much for coffee. I like the kind that I make, and for the price of one cup there, I can make two weeks worth at home and I didn't have to stand in line. I'll just stick with my Folgers and Coffee Mate Creamy Chocolate creamer.

At times, yes. It's just coffee. Why charge so much? I personally prefer Peets Coffee.
