Girl, you HAVE to try Bell Bottoms in Buckhead on Pharr Road. It took my friend over year to get me to go. I'm still in my 20's, so I didn't want to go to an old school club. But I finally went and it was the BEST TIME I've ever had at any club!!! I knew all the songs they played - New Edition, Bobby Brown, Michael Jackson, all the greatest songs from back in the day. And it's so different from clubs with a younger crowd because no one is there just trying to be seen. It's usually $10 to get in. You'll definetely enjoy it - promise!!!

Cast your mind back :> Dance became more popular in UK right back at the beginning of the 80's so consider.... if you had got into the music then would you have considered yourself too old? and the possibility is that you'd still like it 27 years on so what's the diff? You might even suggest to your kids that maybe they're being old fashioned LOL in their like of Dance Music as it would only have become popular when they were tiny LOL I'll be 46 in a couple of weeks and I'm working on some dance playlists for a party.... love it & have loved it for 27 years, so age doesn't have much to do with it. You don't stop liking cool things just because you hit 40, or 50 or 60! Maybe your kids should just be glad that they have a cool (open minded?) Mom! I also play Video games but woe betide anyone who says I'm too old to be playing games.... you're never too old to have fun and enjoy life.

We used to go to Have a Nice Day Cafe a lot when we lived in Midtown. We're 30 (cough) something, too.
They have a pretty good sized dance floor, and it's all 70's style decor. Here's a link with a map. http://local.yahoo.com/details?fr=dd-local-tl1&id=34654546&stx=nice+day+cafe&csz=Atlanta+GA&ed=HWUxva160Sx7BMoYsgqOmtcNntOtAEF9nBbCe9GByMvyj_vqmpdBHVnVI4fpFx2qXQqytDDcjU5gkt32ajY-
They used to have a Partrige Family bus parked out front that you could get as a shuttle service and not have to worry about driving, but I don't know if they still do. It's been a while since we've been there. It's a fun place with ALL your old school dance tunes.
I would recommend going to R. Thomas to eat afterwards. It's open 24 hours. Hip place with great unique menue. Star sightings have popped up there on occasion. Never know who or what you'll see in that place. http://www.rthomasdeluxegrill.com/
Have a good time, and welcome to the peach state! ;^)
