Siberian Husky. They are graceful and beautiful dogs with a friendly personality and lots of playfulness. They need space to run or should be walked regularly, just as people do. So, they make good companions and exercise buddies.
If you are inclined toward a small dog get a Papillon. Very cute lap dogs who will follow you around the house. Smart and loveable.

Simply -

The Japanese Akita Inu.

I own one and believe me they are great. Everyone in the street stops to stroke him or talk to me about him. I know this breed is not for everyone but you cannot deny they are beautiful dogs. They are great family pets and unsurpassed in guard dog protection for the home. They are built like mastiffs and have the grace of a doberman. The only other breed of dog that comes close to this dog is an American Bull Dog.

Based on looks alone my favorite is the Agouti colored Siberian Husky. Based on looks and personality my favorite is the cream Chow Chow.

I pretty much go for arctic type dogs or the ones that look wolfish.

I LOVE MY MUTTS! A first-generation mutt generally doesn't have a lot of the inherited health problems that pure-breds can have. But both of my mutts are half lab. If you have the stamina and energy to keep up with a working dog, I would vote for a lab mix.

I love my mixes! All three are different mixes.
But if I were to opt for a purebred dog I would want a large German Shepherd. I just love the Shepherd personality.

German Shepards-

They are so sweet to the family- good guard dogs, and incredibly smart. Plus I love that they don't give lots of kisses (not a big fan of dog breath and Shepards just don't kiss much I have read)...they just want to snuggle.

and...they just look cool.
