It's easy go to their website fill out a few things about yourself. Get a code in the mail than fill out the information online. Hopefully if you're poor enough you will get yourself a nice grant and go to school for free.

FAFSA only looks at one year's worth of data: the past year. That's why it starts on Jan 1 - because you have to include info on the entire previous year, which won't be completed until Jan. 1.

To fill it out, you will need all the information required for your parents' taxes for 2006 (unless you can prove you're not their dependent) and your own tax info for 2006, if you work.

In case you don't know yet, what the FAFSA does is it looks at your income and your family's income and does a calculation of how much the government says your family should be able to afford to pay for your college. It calculates that number and gives you an "Expected Family Contribution" which is all your family/you will have to actually pay. The rest will come in a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, etc. Depending on your family situation, your family could be responsible for anything from $0 to all of your college tuition. But if there are "lots of zeros" in your parents' income, you should have a good chance of financial aid.

If you need help with the FAFSA, and you're in school, there are people whose job it is to help you. If you're in high school, go to the college & career center, or whatever they call it at your school. If you're in college - or if you know where you're going to college - go to the Financial Aid office for help. There is tons of money and tons of help in getting it available - you just have to go out there and get it!

Good luck, and don't give up - there are plenty of ways to get help with all this stuff!

There is some good info in your answers already, but also some that is wrong. Your EFC(estimated family contribution) is used to help determine the amount and types of aid youa re eligible for. It is NOT related to what you will have to pay to go to school. It is ok to have zeros as answers on your fafsa! You will need to have you mom help you fill out her section of the fafsa and sign it with her own PIN. If she can not help you then you should contact the school(s) you plan to apply to and ask about a dependancy override appeal. They will be able to help you from there.

Good luck!

I now have a lab and that i chosen him highly for the breed in accordance to my previous adventure. The dogs I had earlier him turned right into a lab and he turned right into a best dogs. He befell to be a stray that confirmed up at my abode and after weeks of searching for his proprietor I claimed him as my own. He grew to grow to be out to be between the perfect dogs I ever owned. He became stolen about 3 years in the past. I ignored him a lot I had to get yet another dogs. I had one of those common time at the same time with his training, habit, and so on. that i determined i'd follow an identical breed. I agree that many human beings "imagine" that labs are the perfect. it extremely is probable why there are such quite a number of them in shelters. (and as a results of over breeding). some human beings get a lab with out determining that he/she will be in a position to need an marvelous quantity of workout, will probable chew by walls if given the threat, will shed 12 months round, will thieve your foodstuff if no longer experienced precise, and could finally replace into those vast paws that look so wonderful as a puppy.

You should be eligible for more loans/grants the less money you and your parents earn.
