It's worth it to take your dog to the vet! What if she has cancer? especially of it's a large breed dog.

Call the vet (the phone call is free) and ask him the correct doseage to give your dog (it's given by weight of the dog, not the human equivelant on the package) of Bufferin.
Why is the joint swollen? Arthritis? Did he get injured? Has this happened before?
If you don't have a veterinarian and /or can't afford one, the you should go to the local animal shelter or ASPCA/Humane society and see if they can help.

You can try alternating ice and heat to it if he will allow you to. You should talk to a vet about a payment plan because whether you can afford it or not right now, your dog relies on your for their care. You take that on when you get one and when and if it gets sick or hurt, you should be able to be there for them and provide them with help. That being said, call your local humane society as well and they can give you help with where to go to get care for litle or no money. Poor dog!

My suggestion is to try putting ice on it - it should help the swelling go down, also, you can buy at the pet store buffered aspirn, be sure to follow the directions that come with it.
Good luck

Your dog could have a serious problem If you truly love your dog, you would take him to the vet.
If you cannot then ask a local doctor(for people)they might have some ideas.

go to your local ASPCA or Humane Society - they usually charge about $25 for a checkup - don't be cheap! Your dog could have a serious problem.

How can you treat something if you don't know what the problem is? pets need vets. It's as simple as that. Borrow, sell something, your pet depends on you for it's health care.
