Yes , coffee is a natural laxative, and it's not the caffiene. The coffee bean itself has alot of natural chemicals in it, and one of those chemicals is a natural laxative and diuretic (makes you pee)

Your digestive system functions by pushing food through in a process know as peristalsis. These are involuntary muscle contractions of the digestive tract. When you drink caffeine (coffee), it acts as a stimulant to your whole body. Sometimes your heartrate will increase, etc. It also increases these involuntary muscle contractions, which will cause you to have to 'go number 2' after you drink most caffeinated beverages.

The caffiene in the coffee acts as a stimulant of the intestinal and bowel systems. There you GO!

I know it does that to a lot of people. Try and eat before you drink coffee. That should help a little bit. Or take some tums.

Yes. Coffee is a natural diuretic. That's why you need to do #2 after drinking it

No coffee does make you do that. In hospitals if they are trying to make you go they will offer you coffee or tea; if you are not comfortable taking heavy doses of pills. That's what they explained to me while I was in there.
