You can't. Bulldogs are expensive to breed and raise properly.

A properly bred purebred anything will cost $800+ if bred right.

You have no idea the cost involved in breeding the *right* way : decent parents (not cheap to aquire), vet fees during pregnancy, chance of pregancy going wrong (c-sections are costly), then vet fees for the puppies, puppy vaccinations and deworming, promoting the dogs, and so on. And even if the breeder gets just minimum wage, there is a huge labor expense of handlign the babies every day to socialize them.

There are $300 papered Bulldogs out there in petshops, but clearly these came from "puppy mills". Puppy mill dogs are rarely given the proper nutrtion, are handled much less, are bred from parents who are known to pass on genetic flaws, etc.

In short, if you want a papered dog, save up and buy one from a good breeder. If you want a bulldog-looking dog, just check the shelters and bulldog rescues (but don't expect papers or show quality)

Stud fee = $800
2 Artificial inseminations with shipping/collection =$1000
c-section = $1200
health testing =$800

All this, for 2-3 puppies.

This does not include basic prenatal care for the *****, nor puppy care what so ever. How many thousands do you think a breeder should be willing to lose on a litter? They are extremely expensive to breed (expensive to own as well). They have to be bred by artificial insemination and birthed by c-section.

Bulldogs are known for health problems. This breed, especially, you will want to make sure to buy from a good show breeder who does appropriate health testing.

If you find a 'cheap' one, the breeder is probably cutting corners somewhere and you may ending up paying in huge Vet bills and alot of heartache.

www.petfinder.com has 175 listed.

This is a group of rescue groups and shelters who are highly knowledgeable regarding animals, breeds, temperament, etc. In the left hand column there is a place to select type of animal and breed. You can then sort by the other criteria you want. Most even come with a picture of them. And you can contact the group regarding the dogs pureness of breed and their specific temperament. Now you will NOT find breeders (unless they've slipped in under the radar) as this is a sight about responsible pet ownership. Good luck!

You might not get papers or anything, but look for a Bulldog rescue, maybe. A lot of people buy these trendy/popular breeds of dogs without finding out if it's a good match for them, so they give them up. It's worth a shot. Good luck!

Search local breed rescue groups. They too cost but not as much as an individual breeder or petshop. Usually you just have to pay for shots and spaying/neutering that the rescue group has already done (any legitimate rescue group automatically fixes the dog as soon as they get it to avoid people looking for dogs to breed). A local rescue group is best so you can actually see the dog, and it saves cost of shipping the dog to you, or you traveling to pick it up.

I just bought a puppy and she was $2000 but well worth it, I had to bring a baby into the house with 4 cats I knew an older dog wouldn't work out for us.
