It's not going to happen for a few years yet but I'm just wondering where I can get married. I don't want to get married in a church any more than I would in a mosque or synagogue because I'm not religious... and outside isn't a good idea when you live in Scotland... any suggestions?

*envies you* you live in Scotland!!!!!!=^-^= i'm honeymooning there...anywho!
i think if there is a special place for you and you fiance(like the place you two got engaged or first kiss, etc) than you could get married there.or you could get married in one of the many beautiful Scottish castles!!! there are really pretty ones!!( like you need me to tell you that...lol) i personally like the Eilean Donan, but it depends on your interests. you could always have a destination wedding as well, but you'd have to plan that one out in advacne so that your guests have time to get tickets and stuff like that.. or you could cahnce the rain!! rain is pretty!! try setting up a large pavilion or some other ain cover if you really like the outdoors.

good luck!!!

Good ole..Gretna Green, i hear it's really fashionable/ popular to get married there these days, gorgeous place especially at night with all the lights on! And the good thing (from what ive heard) is that altough its a chapel you don't actually get married there as they don't have a licence. so you have the 'ceromony' there and the go to the registry office nearby for the proper vows etc

I got married in a marriage chapel, common here in the US.
Usually they have a banquette hall next door if you want a reception. Scotland must have something similar.

How about looking into renting a castle. I'm sure there are plenty around that offer wedding packages.
