For a person of your height and weight, try sticking to a 2,000 calorie a day diet. Add a twenty minute cardio routine, at least three times a week and you will see some changes. If you add natural supplements such as a multi-vitamin, you will be in good shape in no time!! Good Luck!!

The Aardvark Sez:
There is no big secret to weight loss, all you have to do is burn more calories than you take in.
Beginning right now start eating a sensible balanced diet (Heavy on the fruit and veggies), drink plenty of water (No soda or alcohol) and of course aerobic exercise ( Jogging, biking anything that leaves you breathless and your heart pounding) and while you may not lose the 20 pounds in 4 months you will be on your way to being slim and trim for a life time.
Good luck My Friend.
P.S. Don't forget to consult your doctor before beginning any exercise routine.

Let's look at this mathematically:
1 pound of fat contains 3,500 calories. You want to lose 20 lbs, or about 70,000 calories. You have 4 months, or about 120 days.
To do this, you need to burn off about 600 calories EXTRA per DAY. That works out to about a hour of high-impact aerobics a day, or about 2 hours of walking at a moderate pace.
Any calories you can cut from your current diet will help as well- pay special attention to sugars, like pop (even diet pop according to recent studies!) or most treats, desserts, or snacks.
Watch your portions- portion control is a big problem for most of us. A serving of meat should only be about the size of a deck of cards- to most of us, that looks really skimpy. Fill your meals out with fresh or lightly cooked veggies and fruits.
Learn smart substitutions. Use multi-grain bread instead of white (similar calories but more filling and healthier overall), use spices and hot sauces or salsa for more flavor, get Arbies roast beef (no sauces) instead of McD's burgers- or a Subway instead of either.
The body does not like to give up weight, and the first thing that will happen is water weight loss- nice numbers but it does not mean anything. in general, you are supposed to aim for about a pound a week of real loss, however 20 weeks works out to about 5 months- so you'll be pushing it a bit.

I did the South Beach diet and Stuck to it for 30 days and lost 27 lbs! The 1st two weeks are the hardest. Basically, Cut out everything White, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, then cut all the sugar out. use Splenda... Typical diet I had a scrambled egg and whole wheat toast for breakfast , lunch a salad or low fat yogart or Grilled 2% Cheese on Whole wheat bread, then for dinner a big bowl of Chili! cut the carbs and you will loose alot really fast, you will be surprised, and I didn't exercise!

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

Eat food that are low in Transfat or sat fat. Hit the gym 3x weekly. My programs is this:monday-chest and arms (15minutes). Tuesday is shoulders and back (15minutes) wednesday is Glutes (squats, leg raises) and legs(leg press, extension, curls) (20-30 minutes). After every weight session I run for 30 minutes. then I stretch, cool down and do sit-ups (5 sets of 25). A typical workout last about an hour if I don't talk to much to the other gym rats. Eat healthy you have to help your body thsi way.

What I do when I want to lose some weight is stop eating meat and sugar if you can. The weight comes off without exercise. But when you start eating those certain foods again the weight comes back if you don't exercise.

don't eat anything after 7pm. Eat a big breakfast and lunch, but a small dinner.
No RED MEAT. I would say go veggie for a while, but that won't be helpful unless you plan on staying that way, so only white meat. and don't eat meat at every meal.
Eat Beans
Increase raw fruits and vegetables intake. Limit snacks and Candy, unless you run everyday.
Run 2miles every other day, but walk everyday for at least 3miles.
