To jump to a conclusion of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or celiac disease is both premature and unfounded. This is a recent incident and not one of long standing. No medical professional would make these statements based on what you've said.

The noises you hear are caused by gas. Your sore anus is due to irritation from the diarrhea itself and the frequent wiping.

This is not "flu" as was suggested. There's no such thing as stomach flu. Bacterial gastroenteritis is far more likely to be the cause. Something you ingested perhaps was contaminated. Let it run it's course. Your body is working to rid itself of the culprits. You can use an antidiarrheal such as loperamide (Imodium) but sometimes letting things run their course is better.

Increase your fluids to prevent dehydration, use the BRAT diet (Bread, Rice, Applesauce & Tea), and pick up some Calmoseptine or Calazime skin paste from the pharmacy to treat the excoriated skin at the anus. If they don't carry it, they can order it. Stick to the BRAT diet until you've had semi-formed (more solid) stool for 24 hours, then advance your diet to soft, bland foods as tolerated.

If you are still experiencing episodes of runny or explosive diarrhea by the end of the weekend, contact your primary care provider for further evaluation.

You could have a mild case of food poisoning. But you should see a doctor. You ought to be panicking about NOT knowing what it is. Any sudden change in normal bowel action that can't be explained like by something you know you ate, should be investigated. The last words you EVER want to hear a doctor say is "If you had just got help sooner, we might have been able to deal with this a lot quicker and easier. Unfortuntely, you left it too late and the damage is done" Go see a doctor.

All the advice here is collectively correct. More than likely you have acquired a bacterial or viral bowel infection, which usually clears on its own. You could also have had food poisoning, although most develop a fever and vomiting with the above illnesses.

It is also smart to be screened for Celiac Disease, Crohn's Disease, and Colitis, if you remain ill and don't appear to have an infection.

See your doctor as soon as you can. If you become severely dehydrated (white coated tongue, dizziness, dry skin, fatigued, palpitations) and can't keep anything in, go to your nearest ER for IV fluids. If you can, try to drink Pedialyte and Gatorade to replace lost electrolytes.

you could possibley have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) its nothing major, but i think you should go to your doctor just to check that there isnt any other reason for all the diahorrea. Also if your taking antibiotics that can alot of the time cause diahorrea

Anytime you have a change in bowel habits that last longer than a week ....and or there is pain involved . Its recommended that you consult your health care professional . Especially if there are changes in color such as black tarry colored stools that may indicate bleeding some where in the digestive tract or bright red blood during a bowel movement

You sound as if you are developing Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It acts very much like what you describe, some days fine other days horrible and constantly going to the bathroom. I have it myself and have for years.

I seriously hope this is not what you have because it is not very pleasant to live with. I hope you have something else that will only last a short duration.

Try looking up "celiac disease".

Symptoms of celiac disease may include one or more of the following:

gas
recurring abdominal bloating and pain
chronic diarrhea
pale, foul-smelling, or fatty stool
weight loss / weight gain
fatigue
unexplained anemia (a low count of red blood cells causing fatigue)
bone or joint pain
osteoporosis, osteopenia
behavioral changes
tingling numbness in the legs (from nerve damage)
muscle cramps
seizures
missed menstrual periods (often because of excessive weight loss)
infertility, recurrent miscarriage
delayed growth
failure to thrive in infants
pale sores inside the mouth, called aphthous ulcers
tooth discoloration or loss of enamel
itchy skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis
A person with celiac disease may have no symptoms. People without symptoms are still at risk for the complications of celiac disease, including malnutrition. The longer a person goes undiagnosed and untreated, the greater the chance of developing malnutrition and other complications. Anemia, delayed growth, and weight loss are signs of malnutrition: The body is just not getting enough nutrients. Malnutrition is a serious problem for children because they need adequate nutrition to develop properly.

Sounds like your insides are still recovering from a viral infection. If you are feeling well and have no fever you should be OK but you have to watch what you are eating. Simple food eg boiled rice, crackers and no dairy products.
Drink plenty of water. Get well soon.

Bacterias can just do random things, when you think they're going they just come back. Its nothing apart from a bug you just can't get rid of. Go to the doctor and get some medicine, and remember to drink lots of fluids (with rehydrating salts if possible).
