Either way you have to have an expert cut. Short hair is for those with excellent facial features because it draws attention. If you have features that are not distinct you might like the drama of long hair. Either way it is all in the cut.

I prefer medium to long hair, but if cut well, short hair looks really good too. Personally, I keep my hair long because if it's short, it has no weight and puffs up into a mess of curls.

For most guys, short hair or mid-length hair that doesn't go past the ears. Very few guys look good with hair longer then that.

For girls, long hair (shoulder length or longer) is flattering. Chin length hair can be flattering, depending on face shape, style, age, etc. Really short hair usually only works on girls with fine, delicate features, like Natalie Portman for example. Also, tall girls generally don't look that great with super short hair. It makes them look masculine. Girls with strong bone structure also can't do short hair without looking manly.

I would say not to worry about what others may think or say. just do whatever you feel you would enjoy looking at for that moment or that while. also think about what styles are in and for you to have those styles would it mean short or long hair. on the other hand do whatever you feel........
