I am going to be trying a new diet soon, where I eat fruits one day, vegetables the next, etc. The food I can consume varies day-by-day. However, there is a little problem...I do not care for vegetables. I like corn, but I can't eat it with this diet. So I need to eat tomatoes, steamed veggies, etc. I do eat salad tho.

So what are some tips on how I can eat these vegetables without vomitting, feeling sick, even just avoiding them all together?

NOTE: Some of you might be saying to yourself or ask, "If you hate vegetables, why are you doing this diet?" Well the answer is simple... it's because I need too!

Thanks for your answers!

You mention that you eat salads... That may be the key to success for you!

Try lightly steaming broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, kale, spinach, carrots, parsnips, any other root vegetable, snow peas, etc. (Not all at once!) Not too much cooking, just enough to soften slightly and remove any worries of e.coli in your diet!

Dress the veg gently with good oil, some interesting vinegars, a squeeze of lemon, salt & p[epper, or even you favorite salad dressing! There is no law that says steamed broccoli has to be piping hot, and cool or at room temp with ranch dressing is a good thing!

Consider adding sunflower seeds, chopped nuts, or other flavor enhancers.

Poke around the internet as well. I was introduced to radicchio, a small red-cabbage-y lookin' thing that is bitter and awful... until you grill it and splash it with a little olive oil and salt! Then it's excellent!

Start from what you know. Go simple, add stuff you like and don't neglect raw stuff like radishes and olives to keep you in touch with nutrition as you low-fat your way to skininess!

Best wishes!

Have you tried STEAMING The Fresh Veggies? That is one way to make it easier on the palate for those who don't necessarily like the Raw Fresh Veggie texture or taste -- and you can do this to Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, etc.

You won't need butter at all -- a little bit of seasoning on the veggies -- and it will be good to go.

Most "veggies" that you know of are fruits: tomatoes, all peppers, etc.

Those diets want you to stay away from the yummier veggies: potatoes, corn, and carrotts.

Try roasted peppers. Tomatoes prepared in the oven with a sprinkle of cheese and pepper are a good treat.

My advice is: don't limit yourself. Eat healthy, but try to excercise more than you eat. You will lose weight.

You can "train" yourself to like vegetables that you never ate or liked.

When we were kids, we didn't "like" any vegs except canned green beans, mashed potatoes and raw carrots and such.

The introduction of broccoli, asparagus, snow peas and such was done in frequent servings of small amounts. Everybody was required a small serving, and eventually, we all came to like the new items (most of them- I still hate okra.)

When I was a manager of a fast food mexican place, I had to "taste" the day's prep--including guacamole, which I despised. Now, I no longer work there and I eat guacamole every chance I get.

One secret is to make sure he items aren't cooked to death. Broccoli, for example, turns a dark "dead" green color when cooked to long. Its flavor gets strong and the texture is mush. Try chinese stir fry techniques or just very light steaming...

Use milder tasting vegtables and add them into food you already like. Casseroles generally lighten the taste of the vegtables.
You may also use a juicer machine or blender, and do the same thing. Adding spices you like will also mask the taste you don't. Just make sure you do not have a food allergy to any of the foods that you are trying to include.

can you eat sweet potatoes (yams)? If so, heat them up in the microwave and put some butter or benecol (vegetable substitute for butter) on it. Eat up!! (Good luck on your diet!!)
