Yes I did notice. Such a strange showing of duality. A person who knew nothing of society given only this site to learn would think the world is black or white with no color or shades of gray. Dem or rep. Christian or atheist, vegetarian or meat only diet. It's kind of amusing for me. Good question/observation.

Human nature. On an Answers site, everyone wants to think he or she has the ONE right answer. Humans always tend to try to reduce everything to one right and a thousand wrongs. I believe it is not healthy, but it does engage mental faculties and keep boredom at bay. I can always tell a loser though--that's the one who starts up with the personal attacks.

I think people are just more likely to be honest on forums like this. Whereas in person, most people take the assertive-non-argumentative approach to discussions.
For me, I get passionate about politics and religion while vegetarians all annoy me fiercely.

Not over in Science and mathematics...
but I'm guessing that people who hang around the religion side, won't venture forth to the science section.
Unfortunately, however, they do seem to cross pollinate with "politics and government."
