I personally do not think you need a date if your single. I am getting married in April and half my friends are single and i told them they do not need dates. Honestly it is better off because then you may have the chance to meet other singles and you will save the wedding party money but not bringing someone extra just because you feel you should.

I would say no, don't bring one. I didn't get this as a single person but after having planned my wedding this past June I really get it now. If your invitation included a guest then yes you can bring one but if it doesn't, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT bring one. Besides, lots of people meet great people at weddings! What if you met the love of your life there and you had this date there that interfered with your chances? :o) You never know...

If your invitation does not have "and guest" you should not find a date to the wedding, considering they are most likely working on a budget and might not have enough for everyone's date. You could ask the bride and groom if it is ok to bring a date so they know to expect one more head or not.

If the invitation is made out to you and DOES NOT say "And Guest" then you can not invite a date.

If the invitation says And Guest, then you are welcome to invite a date but are not require. If you know a lot of people at the wedding, you may prefer to go solo so you don't have to bring an outsider who will need your attention as they don't know anyone. At the same time, if you won't know many people, you may enjoy having someone you know to spend time with.

That depends on whether the invitation is of the "and date" variety, or you are invited alone.

Etiquette faux pas to bring a date to the wedding if the invite is for you alone. If invite explicitly includes a date, then it's up to you.

Well, it depends. If your invitation did not say "and guest," then NO you can't bring someone.

If you a guest was included on your invitation, then you can if you want to. Will you know people there? Will you have a good time without a date? If the answer is no, then find someone.
