For example I'm sending a gift and on the card I always list my first name, then the oldest child to the youngest child, then my husbands first name.
Jill, Cameron, Jordan, Jaxson and Jamie
There is no last name on the card because the receipient knows us personally. My husband says that the order should be my first name, his first name then the children.
Jill, Jamie, Cameron, Jordan and Jaxson
Who is right?

I believe proper etiquette calls for the husband (as traditional head of household) to be listed first, then the wife... then follow with children oldest to youngest.

It has traditionally been in order of precedence - the husband, then wife, then sons in chronological order, then daughters in chronological order. This is clearly somewhat outdated.

What I do is get the person with the primary relationship with the recipient to write the card and that person lists themselves first, and the rest of the family appears in chronological order.

If the recipient is known equally well to both adults, I tend to go in chronological order.

I think you list your husband, first, then you, then the children - oldest to youngest.

Your husband is correct. Not that I think people will really care one way or another. Not really that important.
