Beginning Wednesday at 3am she started having diarrhea. All Wednesday and all Thursday. But thursday evening she started showing a little blood at the end of her BMs. She ate and played as normal. I had decided to take her to the vet but Friday morning she vomited and it was strange because she vomited carrots which I had not fed her the day before. Plus there was this mess of hair (long hair) and sticks and who knows what all weaved together in a clump. I don't know what to make of all this but after that, she had her first "mush" BM in three days. All the rest were watery. So I just need help in deciding what to do next. Should I go ahead and take her to the vet, or should I wait and see if the diarrhea is over. I know you people get on these questions fast so I will wait to read some of your opinons before I decide.

This has been going on 3 days, counting today Friday the 8th. And she only vomited once.

Thank you all for your answers. It's hard to choose a best answer but it was very helpful reading everyones suggestions. Here is how it turned out: After 2 days of diarrhea, she vomited a clog of hair and sticks which I now think was an obstruction. After that, everything started to get better and today, she had a regular poo again! So, no more eating branches!

OH MY GOD sounds EXACTLY like what happened to my German Shepherd/husky etc mix. I bet those werent carrots probably partially digested wood. When my dog was younger he used to play with sticks and wood and I thought nothing of it, he started having the exact same symptoms you are describing and he wouldnt eat either I took him to the vet and learned he had swallowed pieces of wood and they were perforating his digestive tract causing bloody diarrhea, and he also only vomited once what looked like wood but was stained orange from the stomach acid. I suggest you take your dog to the vet right away to get x-rays to check for blockage and an anal exam, my vet found wood chips in my dogs bum but luckily no blockage, he still had to take enzyme pills to help digest and pass the wood and had to fast for 24hrs. Pick up all the wood and branches around your yard and keep wood away from your dog, it can kill them if you arent careful and they swallow small pieces.
PS my dog also played and ate as usual at first, but then he got really sick while I was at work and I had to rush him to the vet, I suggest you DON"T wait take your dog in as soon a s possible.

Because of the vomiting and diarrhea both, I would get her to the vet. Puppies have an amazing ability to get into things that are not good for them. Sounds like she could have an obstruction of some sort. Dogs can get dehydrated fairly quickly, bad news. I wouldn't be too concerned about the bloody diarrhea. It is fairly common for a dog with severe diarrhea to have some bloody discharge. If the diarrhea clears up but you still see blood in her stool, then you should be concerned.
As a rule, when they have diarrhea stop feeding them for 24-36 hours, then reintroduce food slowly (several small meals) over the next 24 hours. Always make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water. This will usually halt most diarrhea problems. If not I would contact my vet.
Good luck:)

Definitely take her to the vet.
The blood is probably from an irritated intestine or rectum. But she could have eaten something that is causing all of her intestinal distress.
Diarrhea that lasts longer than 24 hours can be an emergency. It can cause dehydration which becomes a problem because that can lead to the organs shutting down.
When someone calls our clinic and the doctor hears that the dog or cat has had diarrhea for at least 24 hours, he considers it an emergency and wants to see them immediately. He considers it more of a problem than vomiting because it can lead to dehydration so quickly.
I would definitely call the vet and let them know that this has been going on for over a week if I'm reading correctly. See what they tell you.
Keep us posted. Good luck

Oh boy... get her into the vet... sounds like a possible obstruction. (if there is an obstruction, nothing but liquid will pass, (diarrhea) and they usually can't keep much down). I'd get her checked.
We almost lost our female to an obstruction and this sounds all too familiar and similar.

Oh, my gosh Get her to a vet NOW! First, she got into something she shouldn't have. Who knows what else she ingested. With diarrhea and vomiting, she could become dehydrated. I would consider this an emergency!!

My dog did this same thing. I called my vet and he told me to give her some Pepto Bismol. It worked! I was so worried because she was also having blood in her BMs and it was just watery by the time I called.
As far as the stuff in the vomit, dogs eat all kinds of weird things, and they will throw it up.

It could possibly be coccidia, but since there is blood in the poop it may be an indication of a more serious problem. Please go to the vet; when a dog is vomiting/pooping traces of blood it is not usually a good sign. You'll feel better if you go and get it checked out.
Hope this helps and good luck.

I prefer hair that is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like women are more often then not directly, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most guys have short hair.

IF YOUR GIVING HIM MILK THIS WILL BE THE PROBLEM FOR DIARRHEA.
THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE ANY DOG OWNER IS TO GET SOME ANTI-HISTAMINE. IF YOUR DOG EATS SOMETHING IT SHOULD NOT AND HAS AN ALLERGIC REACTION THIS CAN SAVE A DOGS LIFE. OBVIOUSLY SPEAK TO A VET OVER THE PHONE BEFORE GIVING ANYTHING TO YOUR DOG BUT THIS COULD SAVE ITS LIFE.
