Hardly. Alcohol and liquor do more harm than good to your body, so it would probably only mess you up more.

Yes....drink enough, you won't know you have a cold. Actually alcohol isn't good for a cold. Hot liquids are excellent, hot tea and there are so many flavors out there to choose from! Coffee is okay too, use decaf if you are going to have a lot of it. Hot milk and cocoa may tend to make sinus issues worse, milk products have a tendency to do that, so I'd avoid those. Milk or dairy free cocoas are fine though, hot soups, etc. Put some honey in Orange flavored tea and you will feel very relieved, try to breathe in the steam from the cup, this is also very soothing. Hope you get well soon.

Hard Liquor won't help the cold BUT, it will help you sleep through the coughing and discomfort during the night.

By getting the sleep you need to let your body heal itself and not wake up as much... You will get better, and feel better sooner.

Give it a try one night before bed. You don't need much, just enough to get a little buzz going. I do it everytime I get a cold And it never fails.

At worst, you at least not be so dead tired the next day from not sleeping.

Good Luck, Pick Me As Best. :-)

Does hard liquor really help a cold?

Define help. If by help you mean make you feel better, then maybe. It won;t cure anything but it will take the edge off a cold by soothing your stomach. A little too much and you won't care about your cold anymore.

Yes it is. Try this for your cold - a shot of rum, spoon honey, half fresh lime juice and some hot water... It helps me...

yes...in moderation though. don't get hammered, that will just make everything worse! You can make a toddy out of whiskey, honey, lemon and peppermint to soothe a sore throat and cough, and a shot of jagermeister helps to clear your sinuses and also helps with chest congestion. Like I said...a shot....not a liter! :)

I don't see how it could. Alcohol is a poison, so it will only weaken your body further. It may make you feel better though by dulling your senses, but you are not actually healing- just getting numb.
