Say a female Marine is marrying a man in the Navy.
Would is be appropriate for the ushers to be Marines and would it be okay for the female to be in uniform as opposed to your traditional wedding gown?
My concern is how the sailor would feel about all of this. =)

As a Navy dude, if you are both proud of your service, I would say you both should wear your dress uniforms. Typically girls want to look girlie and would rather wear the dress, but I would not oppose to you wearing uniform if you wanted to. As far as the ushers go, I say you should do a mixture of Marines and Sailors. So, is he a Corpsman? If so sweet.

Usually a wedding where the military uniforms are worn is a formal one...the bride has the option of wearing a dress uniform or a wedding gown. It is personal preference but I've never seen a bride choose to wear the uniform...all of the military weddings I have seen the bride has been in a gown.

I dont see a problem with it at all, as long as he is his dress uniform too.
would you both be wearing covers? if so, and one was an officer would there need to be a salute as the bride is handed off?
that would be kinda funny.

What ever the uniform yes the dress military uniform makes anyone look fantastic.

I think that would be a beautiful sight! Both of you in your dress "blues" (as it is called in the Marines.) I wish my husband would have worn his dress blues when we got married but there was good reasons why he didn't.

Well it is your wedding....i think it is a great idea....we tend to seperate the branches but in all honesty we all are doing the same(protecting our country) so we are a family , all of us, all the branches...I think that is a wonerful idea, you go girl!!!!! much love you extended famly (army) jenn lol
