Well this may sound fairly strange but it was a big ordeal for me and my dog when he was a puppy. When my dog was little I used to take him for walks to Tim Hortons and the Mall to socialize him (it didnt work but oh well), we would sit out front of the store and meet people in the hopes of making him like everyone. From the time I got him he was very scared of strangers and despite all my efforts he still is to this day and when we sat outside the store he wouldnt let anyone but children touch him he still likes kids but fears adult strangers. Anyway we were on our way to the mall walking along the side of the main highway through my town and I was teaching him to sit at the curb before crossing a side street that met the highway. We stopped at the corner and there was a car waiting to turn onto the highway, I made Jasper(my dog) sit I looked the woman driver right in the eye, nodded and started to cross the street, I was looking at Jasper and encouraging him because being a bush dog he was still nervous of all the cars etc and would sometimes hesitate to cross in front of cars so I was kind of jogging across with him telling him good boy etc. Halfway across I saw the car out of the corner of my eye moving towards us, I thought she would stop because she had seen us but she didnt so I yanked Jasper back and the lady hit me with her car and ran my foot over completely with her front right wheel, I fell to the ground feeling like my foot exploded and the driver finally saw us and stopped. Jasper was very upset and was pulling away from the car and me towards the highway and slipped out of his collar I was bawling my eyes out at this point because I was scared and my foot hurt but when I saw my baby loose by all those speeding cars I screamed bloody murder and it froze him to the spot so I could run over and grab him. Meanwhile the lady in the car came out and said why were you on the road, I started yelling at her because it was her fault after looking right at me starting to cross the road she looked away and ignored us leading to her running me over. The whole time I was staring at her license plate memorizing it because I thought she was gonna drive away. Both me and Jasper were shaking and I was crying because my foot was burning and I would have beat that lady senseless if my dog had gotten hit because of her stupidity. Neither of us ahd a phone so she started to feel bad and gave me a ride home, where I called the police, those idiots told me I couldnt charge her but they did go talk to her and tell her to be more careful, I was really mad though because the cop said you should always make eye contact before crossing which I did do but she ran us down anyway. I was lucky Jasper and I didnt get hurt worse my foot was only bruised but it completely ruined his training because he still gets freaked crossing in front of cars to this day. Now we ALWAYS wait and let the car go first before crossing because people dont pay attention to anyone but themselves nowadays.

Sorry to hear of this! Need to take her to the vet to make sure everything is OK.
We have one that was attacked by coyotes. The previous owner had to get rid of him or shoot him so we went and got him. His legs were not busted but when the weather turns cold he limps pretty bad.
One dog we have now his owner died, so he is still very sad.
One dog I took from some people they through the poor little pup out of there front door! I found it a good inside home.
But being hit by a car kinda takes the cake, really get him checked out....

i'm sorry to your loss. Our previous labrador died final twelve months. She were particularly sick and we had to have her placed to sleep. I cried my eyes out each night for roughly 2 weeks. It hurts, and you may grieve because of the fact somebody you like has long previous. it is not significant no remember if that somebody is human or dogs, you shared a bond and now that bond has been broken. The time mandatory to recuperate varies relatively from individual to individual. we produce different canines, and that they did help cheer me up, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it wasn't till we've been given our new pup that i even have been given over it. All our canines are rescue canines and there's a few thing very therapeutic approximately saving a dogs from the pound. in case you may, i could advise you get yet another dogs. IT facilitates, and you're giving a stable loving residing house to a dogs who in any different case could be destroyed. And in a fashion, it honours the reminiscence of the puppy you have lost. stable luck, i wish you sense greater efficient quickly.

my little chiuahua survived parvo. i was working at a vet clinic at the time so i noticed her symptoms right away and brung her to my vet and she hooked her up on an IV and was giving her antibiotics and other medicine to make her stop vomiting and having diahreah. she was in there for over a week and we were so glad when she got home. i learned my leson that day. whenever you get a new dog regardless of what the previous owner says that you should always get them vaccinated right away.
daisy is fine now and she is the sweetest little thing she loves to run and play and to sit in our laps and sleep with my nephew every night.

Oh my..sorry to have that happen.
Growing up I had a German Sheperd named Sam. He was a wonderful dog..but i swear that dog had 9 lives..He got shot once by a farmer in the chest and limped all the way home to our doorstep. My mom and grandpa actually removed the bullet themselves and fixed him all up..than he was hit by a dump truck and lived through that. He was amazing and i believe was part cat.

Mine survived being dumped with the rest of her litter in the woods before she was weened (about 5-6 weeks old). Guess the owner only wanted purebreds? A couple, walking their dogs, found her and saved her. She was bloated with worms, malnourished, and covered in ticks. I adopted her from them, and it took months of veterinary care and lots of extra-special feedings to get her to put on any weight. But she did. And now, as a 12 year-old dog, she is happy and frisky, and acts like a 4 year-old. One other dog survived, and was adopted, too; we later met while walking in the park, and laughed at the coincidence.

My first German Shepard loved to play fetch. One day my dad was throwing sticks and it came down in her throat and out the otherside. He couldn't figure out why she wouldn't let go. Anyway he took her to the vet and she had ruptured her throat and was in bad shape. She was a trooper though and pulled through. Of course we never threw a stick for her again (good lesson) and she got tennis balls (her favorite) whenever she wanted.
Unfortunately Sheba lost the fight with cancer 2 years ago. She was the best damn dog ever.

My dog has hypothyroidism and diabetes. She went blind 2 years ago, and has to have insulin shots twice a day. I really thought she was near death 2 years ago, but she just keeps going. She follows me everywhere I go when I'm at home. She's almost 12 years old, and I will miss her when she's gone.

My dog survived parvo. It is very nasty and we were very lucky-parvo kills. I had to sit up at night after I got off work and keep fluids to him-put chicken or beef broth into a turkey baster, and every time he threw up I had to give him more. I had lost 3 pets that year to poisioning and refused to loose this dog. He is kind of mentally retarded now but you couldn't ask for a more loyal friend.
