I'm a tattoo artist from Kansas. You're not being too specific. back of body above your butt is probably not as bad as a tattoo on your pelvis on the front. But everyone's different no way to answer your question. not me, not anyone. Tattoos hurt everywhere. That's one reason why not everyone and theyre mommy has 10 of them. If you want the tattoo, go get it and chill out. What I can say is eat some good food for energy before the procedure and try not to drink too much the night before. And RELAX durring the procedure. You're paying for it, lay back and take it.

Anything done right over the bone is going to hurt like hell. If you're in a fleshy part, you'll be fine. The tats I have on my ankle hurt like a bear because they're right on the shin bone. There's precious little "meat" there to cushion the needle. The one I have on my thigh did just fine--had a small bit of pain like a rug burn after a while, but nothing serious, and that was after he'd been working for an hour.

Sorry to mention it, however a tattoo to your hip bone WILL harm.Generally the extra flesh there's, there much less it is going to harm and straight onto your hip might not be quality. From your different query I accumulate that it is going to be script, so the agony can not final lengthy in any respect - perhaps five - 10 mins after which it is going to be over. Good good fortune!

From my experience with tattoos (I have 15), they all hurt hahahah. Like the above answers though, fatty and meaty areas are less painful that bony areas. I got 5 hours of work on each rib cage and that was killer. I got one on my knee caps too which was not the most pleasant thing I have sat through.

It doesn't hurt that much the thing is it usually hurts more where you are fleshy but when it goes over bones sometimes its weird because it vibrates over them. I got my hip done and I couldn't stop rocking back and forth everytime he put the needle down because it was right on my hip bone. But then again everyone is different and mine didn't hurt but I also have a high threshold for pain.

Me and my friend just went and got tattoos last week and she got one on her hip and I got one on my foot. She said it didn't hurt that bad. The only thing is to wear like sweat pants or something with a strechy waist band for the next few days when it is still tender.

Truly, it depends on your personal pain tolerance.

From personal experience - the was no pain to speak of except for the lowest part of my tat that went across the soft part of my lower belly, and that was more annoying than painful.

It sounds like the tattoo you're looking at is fairly small and probably won't require a lot of color. I'd say you probably won't experience undue pain.

its a very sensitive area, i have a sleeping cresent moon and tribal clouds on my hip area along the belt line, and i cried when i got it, and ive got a tattoo on the back of my neck right at the spine, a tattoo on my shoulder blade, and a tattoo on the inside of my wrist...they kinda hurt alot. but ask for some tattoocane before you get it done, numbs the area right up.

Tats hurt right above bone- lots of nerves there, not to mention belts rubbing on it while it heals. Some folks can do it, it depends on your tolerence for pain, or your access to Vicodin, I guess.
