Confucians regard about ethics, especially among humans to humans and humans between other living animals, insects or plants...
I am a Chinese man, being brought up as a Confucian deeply wellknowleged with regards to the relationship of humans to animal relationship.
In other words, I respect the lives of animals, insects and plants all along with fellow human life. That means that I need to kill for my family's want only.. I do not kill to satisfly my anger or to sport. That means that I do not approve the killing of wild lives to my ramdom feelings...
Now, here is my problem,,,,
My extended family as in one of my sister-in-law with her husband and offsprings from the city, look up to me as a provincial countryman to provide them with wild lives delicacies,,, simply for the simple reason that I do live in the rural area that I am amble to lead them to enjoying eating wild lives!
Their attitudes are against my nature...
How could I restrain them from asking me to take them

People who read my question and anwer,,
Thanks,,,,,!
However, most of you all do not see the very gist of my question and problem...
Firstly,, you know of my Confucian principle about ethical ways to deal with humans among humans and then, with equal importance with lesser lives as in animals, insects and plants lives.
My sister-in-law family does not ask of me to hunt animals for them to eat... It is more of them to ask of me to lead them to illegal shops that sell wild life food as in tiger, sunbear, tapir, musang, monitor lizards, sported leopards, black panther, Javain rhinoceroes, Marqac monkeys,,Red backside short tail barboom, Black and brown King Cobra, greater boa constricter, piggy boa constricter, The greater jungle deers, the Kancil,,, mousedeer,,,,greater crocodiles and the minor aligators, What have we?
I do not need to eat their meats to show my human strenght over them...

I really like the way you think! If your family respects you than tell them your thoughts. Be honest and teach them the positive side of respecting all life. It's sad that so many people don't know how to respect life. Maybe you can change their view-points on "hunting" forever. You are very wise! They will listen to you.
I also agree with camera "hunting", it's a great idea. Buy them all a disposable camera and take pictures of all kinds of life. The person with the most pictures wins the hunt.
Good luck

I think you mean hunting..take them animal hunting for sport. Do you know what I do? I am a photohunter..which means I go "hunting" but instead of shooting and killing animals, I 'hunt' with my gun.

You could provide your whole family with some nice 35mm cameras, and you can go out "hunting" animals with some film. Then order a pizza!!!

Hope this helps.

Just tell them that you will not under any circumstance take the life of another creature, that is not directly threatening your own life. Tell them that is completely against your principals, and won't happen under any circumstance You still love them, but you wont do that - ever.

They can find someone else to hunt for them.

I see nothing wrong in telling them you do not kill a wild animal out of curiosity of what its meat will taste like.

Also tell them what you told us that you only kill for the needs of your family not their wants... there is a difference.

Stick to your morals..

Just tell them that you are not adjusting well enough to fit their livestyle. Your eating habit is very different from them and tell them frankly what is really on your mind. I think they will get your point.
