I am glad you say you know what Masons are all about; although, I do wonder. Pardon me for my bit of disbelief.
Freemasons do their best to do good for this world. We are women and men (yes, the Order to which I belong, American Co-Masonry, admits women as well as men) who believe in a Supreme Being and are committed to improving the world by improving ourselves. That also involves works of charity and benevolence. Again, pardon me for asking, but those of you who have answered, do you do such? What have you done of late to make this world better? Fed the hungry, clothed the poor? Freemasons do that.
You surely have heard of the Shriners. Those are Freemasons. The kids who are treated at the crippled and burn hospitals never have to pay a cent for treatment. Those are not children of Shriners, either.
Regarding gay or straight: that is not anyone's business in Lodge. Gay and straight, Moslem and Christian, Democrat and Republican, Gnostic and Jew, Libertarian... it does not matter. We do not discuss religion or politics in Lodge. Nor is sexual preference anyone's business.
Satanists would not find Freemasonry a convivial place to hangout. Not that I have met very many in real life. We do too much reverence to a Supreme Being they would find repugnant, I think.
Why secrets? Simple: trust. Everyone has trust issues. Look at the relationship boards here. We entrust small things to our new Brethren, passwords and grips. By that shared confidence we then know we can trust them to intimate things in our own lives. Right? Trust is a slender reed. Another reason is that it has been a death sentence to be for liberty and equality in many parts of the world. Hitler killed Masons. So did the Catholic Church backed government in Portugal and Italy. Most all of our rituals are very open. And our membership? Just look for the rings and bumper stickers. Ask us, we will tell you here in the US.
So, American Co-Masonry and Freemasonry in general is about making good people better. We do not want felons and anarchists. We are working toward making the here and now better.
If I can be of any more clarity, please write me. Click on the link below to read more about my Order.

Mason's deny that there is an ultimate Truth. They are big into relativity. In other words, what's true for you may not be true for someone else. The ONLY thing that is true are their rules, so in a way they make themselves God. The upper levels are extremely suspect but, most people would never know. The U.N. chapel has a big Masonic symbol on their podium and they leave the 666 chair open for Lucifer to sit in. Both the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons were both started by high degree Masons. Just recently there was a man killed in an initiation mysteriously (yuk-yuk) by the gun they held to his head had real bullets in it when they say it was not supposed to be loaded, (the idea is when they take the oath of becoming a member they must swear on threat of death to defend their stuff or else.) Well apparently they got wind of this guy doing an or else deal so they decided to send a message.

Unfortunately I do not know them but I do not use this way of thinking; masons are good or masons are bad, etc. We cannot generalise and judge in such a way. Every individual is an independent unit to consider. We are all good and bad, we are human beings. Can you be good all the time? Is anyone bad all the time? I do not think so.
Peace

Yeah it truly is authentic. If the board of nobodies had a good reason, then the coach and different gamers may sense an identical way. The board that has no longer some thing to do with the participant are those that make one of those vast decision. i imagine the coach must have the finest say, assuming the different gamers agree too.

George Washington was a Mason. Since I like George Washington, I do not put down the Masons.

They are an ancient mystical society, and I chose not to have anything to do with them. However my father was a 33rd degree mason who became a shriner, then later changed to the Scottish Rite or the York Rite, I don't remember which.
His burial did not resemble a Christian burial.
He never saw anything that contradicted his Christian beliefs.

I suspect that the United States is their creation. I have heard some of their principles and they sound like the bill of rights. Many signers of the Declaration of Independence were Masons.

I think that on a whole they do a large amount for their communities. Take for instance the Shriners Hospitals, Scholarships and blood drives. I wish I knew what they were all about.

I don't know if you could call them a satanic cult, but they are a cult. Many are well meaning, but misguided. My ex-wife married one and my life has been hell ever since.
