I have a thyroid problem that resulted from lack of Iodine . . my doctor gave me supplements but it seems like so much . . does anyone have the normal healthy dosage?

(in mcg.)

Infants 40—50
Ages 1—3 70
Ages 4—6 90
Ages 7—10 120
Age 11 older 150
Pregnant women 175
Lactating women 200

You may need more since you are deficient. Go get another opinion if you are unsure.

Isn't Iodine something you put on cuts and abbrasions? I thought Iodine was for external applications only and to take it internally would likely kill you. If there's something new about Iiodine that has internal applications please let me know. I'm not trying to be smart. It's just I'm not all that familiar with the pharmaceutical market near as prescription drugs are concerned.
