I'm getting my hair dyed and highlighted or lowlightled next week..I'm nervous because I dont know what i want. Its like a brownish red (looks horrible) right now from dying and trying to lighten so I know it has to be done professionally, but I want an idea for color and if I should highlight or lowlight? I have angled almost shoulder length hair and green eyes and fairly tan skin...I'm 20 years old so I want something that will look good for someone my age...thanks

Ok. Not being Able To See You Is difficult. Id say Your BEST Bet Is To Talk To Your stylist When You Get There, And Get Thier Opinion. With Tan Skin, Too Light Would Look Tacky In My Opinion, Go With A Natural Tone, Like Maybe A Medium Auburn (Just A Hint Of Red In A Brunette Base) With Lowlights Of Darker Brunette, Or A Slightly Lighter And Slightly Redder Highlight. But I Like I Said. Nt Seeing Your Face, And Haircut Its Hard To Say.

I think, given your stats, a golden blond highlight with a light golded brown base color would be nice. Since your hair already has a brown tone, the colors might come out better. I've been dying my hair those similiar colors for a couple years now, I try to change it up sometimes, but never too dramatic. GL

You could stick with the brownish/red idea and go for a color that looks like mahogany. Your best bet is to figure out your natural color, and then make it more so. (Your hairdresser will know what that means)

I would go with a chocolate brown color and very low lights. i think the darker color with make your green eyes pop out more.
