I have two dogs, two male who are best friends Rich and Charu. BOTH of my dogs have taken up snoring!! My male American Pit Bull Terrier (Rich) snorts (like a pig), snores (like a drunken old man), snores louder than a human would. Charu (a real tomboy), the puppy Puggle, snores quite loudly when he sleeps on his back.
Stop snoring? ANY ADVICE?????

I hope to hear from you soon. Talk soon.
Good Bye Jason Homan.

LOL I have a Boston Terrier who can literally raise the roof when she snores....If your dog sleeps near you wake it up and make it roll over...no guarantee that it will stay that way though.

Some dogs snoring comes naturally and there is little that can be done about it...short of wearing ear plugs....i have an extra pair, if you want them.

Snoring, especially in dogs with short noses (called brachycephalic, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Boxers, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, etc) often snore because of their anatomy and this can sometimes cause other problems. They have an altered respiratory tract resulting in stenotic nares (narrow nostrils which don't allow much air to pass through), an elongated soft palate (basically the top of the mouth extends back into the throat and causes the air passages to be narrower and results in snorting and snoring), treacheal stenosis (narrowed trachea or wind pipe), and an increased risk of heat stress or heat stroke. There are surgeries that can be performed to open up the nasal passages and reduce the soft pallate and help the dog breath better if it becomes a problem. Otherwise, it's just something you have to live with.

I have a 3 yr.old Male Jack Russell and a female 8 yr. old both rescued. The male will sleep and snore. I can't stand adult snoring (it will wake me up immediately for some reason.) It's really cute and I will always cover him up with his favorite blanket. Good question!

Hi, Jason. My Pug and Boston terrier both snored, but the breed I raise has very long noses, and do not..No way to stop the snoring of a short nosed dog...It is something you will really miss when he is gone..

haha yes!! I had a pit bull named julius and he snored even when he was awake and constantly snorted like a pig. that dog was freaking crazy. they just naturally have sinus issues so they will always snore. i suggest not letting them sleep in your bedroom lol.

my dalmation/jack russell mix snores when she is really out, if he snores when on his back do like women do to their husbands and poke him in the ribs to get him to roll over LOL, its may just be the way some dogs are, good luck in finding an answer, you may want to ask the vet if it is constant
