I just read the answer that turbo tax 2006 is not compatible with WIN 98. My last years taxes were done on a comp that uses WIN 98. When I do my taxes, info from the previous year is loaded to the current year, such as depreciation and such. If I have to use another computer how will Turbo Tax 2006 import Turbo Tax 2005 return information??? I copied the 2005 return to my WIN xp comp but it will not open because I do not have the 2005 CD anymore. please advise - thanks!

Yes, as in previous years, the TurboTax 2006 app will be able to import the data from the TT2005 data files. You do not need TT2005 loaded on the new system, just the files.

All you need is the saved files themselves of the tax return, when you use 2006 version, it will ask you to locate your previous files on your computer, after you point and click, it will automatically continue your deductions that weren't picked up or not used. No worries.

heres a tip for you - even if you cant get it to load all you will need is the worksheet for your 4562 and you can just reenter all the depreciation....you should always print the worksheet so that the details are known to whomever is looking at it...however the worksheet does not go to irs
