Is it bad that cars turn me on?

I have a really bad car feddish! If someone says corvette, or shows me a picture of a car I go nuts! What's up with that?

I don't have a sexual thing for cars -- it's MUCH worse than that for me. I've got one car in particular that's the key for me: when I don't get to drive it for a few weeks, I begin to get moody and irritable. A short jaunt, preferably with the top down and for at least long enough that the engine warms up fully, is all it takes to make me feel relieved, satisfied, fulfilled, and ready to get on with my life. I have cars that are faster, newer, more valuable, more comfortable, and more usable on a day-to-day basis (especially here in Portland, where a convertible makes about as much sense as sunscreen on a duck) -- but this one car has a special place in my heart.

I used to say that the best thing about cars was that they don't cry when they find out you've been test-driving another one. Then I got into Italian cars, and found I was wrong. They know -- they ALWAYS know.

So I don't know if that helps you or not, but there are fellow sufferers out there. What I've learned is that there is no cure... but there is treatment. :-)
