The bible forbids same sex intercourse, but what is the reason? Why is it forbidden?

Why does god forbid eating shellfish? WHy doesn't anybody obey that order? Why are christians not trying to shut down every seafood restaurant in the country?

Most of what is in the Bible is based on what is good for humanity. Family is one of the most important social groups because we were all children once and children are affected by their families more than anyone else. Male and Female roles are important to this world. Men are better at some things and women are better at some things. Homosexuality denies this fact. Same sex parents confuses their children. I don't mean they don't understand why they have two fathers or two mothers. I mean children of same sex parents form opinions that are contrary to an emotionally healthy world.
That is why homosexuality is wrong and why God is against it.

II don't think that right. The sodomy thing is dirty and spreads germs, STDs. But men have always seem to band into close even intimate gangs, groups, fraternities and religious clans. etc.
Homosexuality, might range from close buddies who fish, to sexual partners. The bible is just a book written by men and re-written many times by many men.

Because it damages the family structure upon which biblical law is greatly centered around. Without family there is no continuity and thus no life....and God implores us to choose life.

God allows man to exercise his free will.
There are many things that men do that is against what God wants. Like divorce, pre-marital sex, killing, stealing, lieing, etc...

God made us male & female. A handsome man shall leave his parents and find his beautiful woman. They two shall become one flesh. They are to reproduce & multiply & make beautiful children.
Everything else is idolatry or adultary. It is outside of Gods purpose and is sin.
God wrote the ten commandments with Gods own finger in two tablets of stone. Of those commandments is "Thou shalt not commit adultery." & "Thou shalt not commit idolatry." ..."and the iniquities (addictions/sins) are passed on (inherited) unto the 3rd & 4th generations of those who hate the LORD God (because God is mighty jealous).
Sexual addictions or idolatrious addictions are iniquities passed on to those who hate God (unto the 3rd & 4th generation).
