Australia is an island. So, there is no land border there.
Instead, Australia has ocean border with the neighbouring country.

North border: There are three closest country there that are Indonesia, Timor, and Papua New Guinea
East border: There is one closest country that is New Zealand
South border: It's Indian ocean... no neighbouring country there.
West border: It's also Indian ocean... no neighbouring country there

Note: I saw someone mention Malaysia as neighbouring country.. nope that's wrong...

If you want to take a look on the globe map of Australia, just type australia on http://maps.google.com/

Hope this will help you in your homework.

As stated, because of the fact that we are an island continent right here, we've not got any incredibly bordering countries...yet some interior of attain. Closest is Indonesia - to the north, and Papua New Guinea (which borders Indonesia on the island of Irian Jaya) Then around the Tasman Sea is our next closest neighbour, New Zealand! After that, Fiji and Polynesia - yet they are particularly a techniques out and realistically, closer to New Zealand than right here.
