Dating + Age?

I know this kid who is 17 and he is dating a 12 year old girl. Personally I think its gross. What do you think?

Her parents found out and threatened the guy, but that didn't stop him because they are still "secretly" going out. My brother is friends with him and my brother even told him wtf are u doing shes 12. I know its none of my business but that doesn't mean I can't think its wrong and gross!

Well in 1 year when he's 18 and she's 13 it will be considered statutory rape if he sleeps with her, so yeah it's way gross.

it's not only gross, it's also going to be a completely illegal relationship once that boy turns 18. 12 year old *children* aren't even educated by their schools yet about the precautions of sex at that age...let alone know a thing about their bodies, and dating, and relationships. Any 17 year old that is willing to date a 12 year old is only taking advantage of that innocence and naivety with his perversions. The girl might have not even had her first period yet, and is still probably wearing a training bra for christs sake. What could a 17 year old possibly gain from experimenting a child? He's a pervert, and is probably going to get himself in a world of trouble.

I think that it's a difference in age one should be more mature then the other but maybe the 17 year old has the maturity level of the 12 year old and maybe that's why they get along.

Once he turns 18 I hope he realizes that dating a 13 year old is illegal. I wouldn't say gross, I would just say it's wrong.

Very, very gross. The 17 year old must be really immature and not able to find girls interested in him around his own age. Extremely dangerous for the 12 year old also as their minds are so imaginative at that age. Sounds like the 17 year old is in desperate need of some form of counseling.

Firstly he sounds pretty immature and insecure. What could a 12 year old have in common with a 17 year old? He is looking for someone who is naive and too young to understand a "real relationship". I am sure he wil try to take "advantage" of her..in some way, too But to each his/her own, unfortunately she will find out the hard way..if his intentions are not good. By the way, doesn't this 12 year old have parents?....no 12 year old daughter of mine would be able to date a 17 year old, that is for sure.

as a 12 year old you mental abilitys are way diffrent from 17, totally wrong, and someone should put a stop to it hopefully the parents, but as you get older age becomes less of an issue as far as being of age like 18 plus but i think that the laws are set for reasons, and that in the teen years 3 years or more makes a big diffrence

laws differ form state to state. in NJ, it is illegal to have sex with anyone under age 13. it does not ,matter how old the other person is or if it is consensual. between 13 and 16 its okay if the other person is not more than 4 years older. an anonymous type to the parents would be helpful. do from a payphone because of caller ID. this way you can do the right thing and not worry about it coming back at you. do the right thing.

yea.... Its gross a little. Me and my husband have a 3 1/2 yr age difference so when I was 12 he was almost 16. So its not bad when you are older, but a 12 yr old shouldnt be dating inthe first place.... that is retarded. Shes 12... she should be playing with dolls or her moms makeup.

age is only a number. it only sounds gross because of who you are. of course i don't encourage it but it's not your life. some married couples differ in age by 7-15+ years but of course they are adults. it all depends on the person.
