The article is certainly biased!
There is nothing wrong about telling children that if they believe Santa exists, he does.

St. Nicholas showed his devotion to God in extraordinary kindness and generosity. He was known as a lover of the poor and patron saint of children. He is thought to have been born in Turkey, and he did become Bishop of Myra, which was in Lycia, now Turkey.

Many of my friends refuse to tell their children about santa. Because when they grow older and learn it was a lie they will doubt other things their parents told them.
